LOGUN SOLO RESTORATION
Share
This Logun Solo was brought in showing signs of age-related wear, inconsistent performance, and general degradation of internal components. As with many older PCP platforms, the primary issues were related to seal condition and internal contamination rather than any single catastrophic fault.
Initial Condition
On inspection, the rifle showed:
• Noticeable variation in velocity
• Dry and worn internal seals
• Evidence of old lubricant breakdown
• General internal contamination from long-term use
Chronograph testing confirmed inconsistent output, indicating a loss of efficiency within the air system.
Work Carried Out
The rifle was fully degassed and stripped to allow complete inspection of all internal components.
The following work was carried out:
• Full internal strip and inspection
• Replacement of all critical seals
• Cleaning of internal components to remove old lubricant and debris
• Correct lubrication applied to moving and sealing surfaces
• Reassembly and system check
• Power set within UK legal limit
All work was carried out with a focus on restoring mechanical reliability rather than simply replacing parts.
Results
Following reassembly, the rifle was chronographed to confirm performance.
The result was a significant improvement in consistency, with a much tighter spread across the shot string. The action cycled correctly, sealing performance was restored, and overall efficiency was improved.
Summary
Older PCP rifles such as the Logun Solo often respond well to a full internal service when performance begins to drop off. In this case, a complete strip, reseal, and clean restored the rifle to a stable and usable condition.
This type of work highlights the importance of proper maintenance and structured servicing, particularly on platforms with aging seals and internal wear.
